A true leader in innovation, Miki Agrawal has taken a long and winding road to her position as a thought leader and motivator. Keen to share her insights with the world to guide others along the way, Agrawal weighed in on what makes her successful while outlining some of the hard truths she had to learn from along the way.
Embracing Fearlessness.
Miki Agrawal first broke into her career path as a financial professional working at Deutsche Bank. The tragic events of 9/11 would touch close to home for Agrawal, and she decided to leave her position at the company behind to pursue her dreams. It took a little while for Agrawal to find success with her first company, an eatery by the name of WILD, but it wouldn’t be the only success she found.
After building a foundation with WILD, Agrawal would reach into her pocket of fearlessness to take action on something genuinely close to home: sustainable, long-lasting, and best-in-class bidet technology.
Growing up in a Japanese-Indian household, Agrawal had learned early on the importance and benefits of a bathroom bidet. When COVID-19 shut down much of the world, the TUSHY bidet became even more critical alongside a lack of toilet paper availability. Agrawal says, “Sometimes we just need to turn off the part of our brain that likes to ask all of the scary “what ifs” and just walk headfirst into something, learning along the way.”
Becoming an Industry Titan
With TUSHY finding rapid success, it wouldn’t take long for Miki Agrawal to set her sights on further projects. Agrawal would embrace the work of her period-proof underwear company, THINX, by embracing her bold sense of humor and her willingness to seek out and overcome her fears. Despite the taboo nature of her industry, Agrawal was able to guide THINX into a position of leadership.
Agrawal says of her path to success, “Success is all about finding our LIT path, or the thing that we’re so passionate and excited about, and following it. It sounds cliche at this point, but doing what you love is truly the only thing that matters.”
To the individuals looking to follow in her footsteps, Agrawal hopes that they take with them a few of the lessons that she has learned along the way. Agrawal says to others looking to emulate her success, “So many people get stuck in the planning/talking about it phase. Don’t worry about things being messy or making mistakes. Just start!”
